Newtown Borough
E-News Update

Happy Fall!

October is Fire Safety Month, a good time to consider the advice of Newtown Fire Rescue and evaluate smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in your homes.

Once again, Newtown Borough is decorating and getting excited to celebrate Halloween! To maintain safety for our trick-or-treaters on Halloween night, our Walk Friendly Newtown Committee is looking for volunteers to help pedestrians safely cross the busy intersections along Washington Ave. If you are interested in helping and would like more information, please email us.

We have nearly a dozen special events planned for everyone's enjoyment this month. Click here and scroll down to Events for all the details.

Please note that Halloween Parade registration is available online at https://www.newtownhalloweenparade.com/ or in person beginning at 9AM. The parade kicks off at 10AM.

Our homepage includes our calendar that provides the dates, times, locations, agendas, minutes, remote access, and other important information regarding Borough Council and Committees of Council meetings. This month, Borough Council will meet on October 8th, October 15th, and a Special Budget Work Session on October 23rd.

Please click 2025 Volunteer Opportunities to see the few vacancies that remain on our Committees, Commissions, and Boards.

If you have a new neighbor (residential or commercial), please invite them to receive our monthly E-News Alerts to stay informed and get involved in our community.

Best regards,

Newtown Borough Mayor & Council
