Newtown Borough
E-News Update

Hi All,

Our annual street sweeping will be held on May 20th and 21st this year. We kindly request that everyone move their vehicles to assist in maximizing our street cleaning efforts. Note that our street sweeping begins the day following our Primary Election on Tuesday, May 19th. Thank you in advance for your assistance and participation in both.

Borough Council will meet at our May 6th Work Session and May 20th Council Meeting. Please visit our website calendar to find meeting dates, times, locations, agendas, remote attendance information, and recordings of past Council meetings. Council Work Sessions are held at Borough Hall and via Zoom, while the Council Meetings take place at the Chancellor Center and are livestreamed on YouTube. Participation in public comment, however, does require in-person attendance.

In addition to meetings, our homepage news provides information on important matters from PECO road construction updates and detours to fraud/scams to watch out for. It is also where special event details can be found.

In another effort to keep everyone informed, the Spring 2026 Borough Newsletter will arrive in mailboxes within the next two weeks.

Only a limited number of 2026 volunteer opportunities remain available at this time. All are encouraged to share this information with neighbors who may wish to get involved, stay informed and sign up for E-News Alerts.

Warm regards,

Newtown Borough Mayor & Council
