Newtown Borough
E-News Update

Hi All,

The beginning of spring and the arrival of milder weather are a welcome change, enjoy!

The Borough website calendar provides dates, times, locations, agendas, and remote attendance information for Borough Council and Committees of Council meetings. Council Work Sessions are held at Borough Hall and via Zoom, while Council Meetings take place at the Chancellor Center and are livestreamed on YouTube. Participation in public comment requires in-person attendance.

Borough Council will review a range of items at the April 8th Work Session and April 15th Council Meeting, including land development proposals, special events, and the Borough’s preparation activities commemorating the Nation’s 250th birthday. The April 15th Council Meeting will also include a vote on an amendment to the Mobile Food Vendor (Food Truck) Ordinance.

The Newtown Borough Police Department will participate in Medicine Take Back Day on April 25th at the Newtown Fire Association. This event provides an opportunity to safely dispose of unused or expired prescription medications.

Annual street sweeping is scheduled for May 20th and 21st. The Borough requests that vehicles be moved to support effective street cleaning operations. Street sweeping follows the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 19th; both dates are encouraged to be noted.

Only a limited number of 2026 volunteer opportunities remain available, reflecting strong community participation. Residents are encouraged to share this information with neighbors who may wish to stay informed and to sign up for E-News Alerts.

Warm regards,

Mayor and Borough Council
