We want to alert everyone to a dangerous new Malicious tactic currently circulating.
Malicious actors have found a new way to compromise your computer by exploiting standard website verification checks. Typically, when a site wants to verify you aren’t a robot, it asks you to select images (like traffic lights) or type a CAPTCHA code.
With this new attack, the website will instead instruct you to press the Windows Key + R to open a "Run" box and type in a specific command.
PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS! Following these instructions allows malicious code to run behind the scenes, completely bypassing your security protections and compromising your device or possibly your environment.
Please continue to stay vigilant. If you encounter any prompt that seems unusual or different from the norm, stop immediately, question it, and seek technical support.
