The Bucks County Recorder of Deeds Office offers a Fraud Alert program that is designed to protect Bucks County property owners’ deeds. It is easy to sign up, and a FREE service to all Bucks County residents and business owners.
The purchase of your property is likely to be the largest and most important purchase of a lifetime. To protect your investment, the county encourages you to enroll in the Fraud Alert program. Once enrolled, the property owner will be alerted anytime a document has been recorded in the office against your name or parcel number. A cell phone or email address is needed to sign up for this program. It is suggested that you sign up by both name and parcel number for assurance. Should you receive an alert (text message or email), follow the instructions and contact the Recorder of Deeds Office immediately. If fraudulent activity occurs, the county will connect you with the District Attorney’s office. Always follow-up on any alert and never assume it was received in error.
